There is quite a bit of Internet chatter about Apple's (
AAPL) new iPhone 4. Unfortunately for the tech company, a good deal of it is negative. There is a problem with reception for the iPhone, a problem that stems from touching "a spot" on the lower left side of the phone. This problem caused
Consumer Reports to say that it "
can't recommend the iPhone 4." On July 2, Apple tried to
explain that the problem was not the antenna, but that it was a calculation mistake that makes it appear that there were two more bars of reception -- seriously. Apple did offer to fix the problem with a free software update (available in a "few weeks") for the iPhone 4, 3, and 3GS.

AAPL) launched its fourth generation iPhone this past weekend, and as was the case in the past, iPhone fanatics lined up across the country to get their hands on the new iPhone, leading to
large sales volumes for the first three days the new smart phone has been on the market.
Everyone knew that the iPhone 4 would have a good opening weekend, but not even the most optimistic forecasts predicted that the company would sell 1.7 million units.

AAPL) needs to send personalized holiday cards to all of its customers to thank them for their unwavering and fierce loyalty. Apple-philes are a special breed of fanatic, and they are always in search of the next innovation. Witness the initial iPad sales, which surpassed even Apple's optimistic expectations. And witness early pre-orders of the iPhone 4, debuting in the U.S. on June 24.
First, anxious shoppers
crashed AT&T, Inc.'s (
T) shopping server in the wee hours of Wednesday morning. AT&T has now suspended advance orders indefinitely. And still, the number of pre-orders for the iPhone 4 were
10 times higher than orders for the 3GS last year. If you weren't one of the lucky ones to order through Apple or AT&T while they still had existing inventory, you'll be waiting until the next shipment, expected to be before July 2.

TIF) has launched a
new app for Apple's (
AAPL) iPhone, and it may just become a girl's best friend.
The free app, called the "Engagement Ring Finder," allows a would-be groom (or bride) to browse through shapes, settings, metals, designs, and carat sizes (only up to 2.5 carats, so the super generous among you will have to visit a TIF store). It is also possible to view the rings from various angles and look at them "actual size." Users can save their favorite looks to consult with friends and family via text, email, Facebook, and Twitter.

The world learned the details about the Apple Inc. (
AAPL) iPhone 4
G from Steve Jobs yesterday, and while he was presenting the amazing device with 100 new features and 24% slimmer profile, the company stock was sinking. Actually, most stocks were sinking.
The biggest reason for the stocks recent demise: the big cats decided it was time -- and others started to follow. There is nothing wrong with Apple at all and yesterday Jobs pushed out further in the race to produce the best product, stretching a lead he is intent on maintaining. I'm no Apple cheerleader having posted
Apple $300 -- Not This Year! last February, when I thought the fanboys were confusing dreams with facts.

Shares of tech giant Apple Inc. (
AAPL) rose to a new all-time high Tuesday afternoon after the company posted a 90% increase in profit for its
fiscal second quarter, spurred by strong sales of its popular iPhone.
Heading into the earnings report, analysts had forecast $2.45 per share, but Apple shattered those estimates by posting $3.33 a share for the quarter. During the same period last year, the company reported earnings of $1.79 per share.

Want your friend to try the "I Am T-Pain" iPhone app but they won't spring for the $2.99? Treat them to it. Apple's (
AAPL) iTunes store now
allows users to gift specific apps to their friends and family (provided they have iPhones or iTouches, of course). This was a natural step, as iTunes has allowed music fans to give songs and albums for years.
The logistics of the new program work as follows: go into iTunes, navigate to the desired app, click the drop-down button, and select "Gift This App." Once you enter the necessary information, the recipient receives an email notifying them of their gift. This feature is only available through iTunes software currently, but there are likely plans in play to bring it to the iPhone down the road.
